A psychiatrist. A shrink even. I stumbled onto this blog which has a few posts about pieces of the PA Turnpike that have since been abandoned, including some tunnels. Now - I am completely fascinated by this whole thing, but at the same time it makes my heart race and I feel nauseous. Soooo... Anxiety. Over abandoned roads and tunnels.
What on EARTH am I to make of that? It is just odd to me... Anyone want to do an armchair shrink diagnosis? Go on - I can take it...

Yeah - thanks a bunch chickie! Like I needed a new obsession...now I dind myself clicking through and reading his thoughts/facts on the Sideling Hill service plaza (my favorite) and the Breezewood exit (which until recently was the closest Long John Silvers).

You don't think it is completely odd that empty roads and abandoned tunnels make me want to curl up into a little ball and hide?
The Freud in me wants to point out the obviousness of what the tunnel symbolizes, and it's barren ... then you assume the fetal position...

I'm not disturbed about such things, but I do wonder why they are building a long stretch of a 4 lane highway in the middle of nowhere in south Georgia. We drive on it, through construction cones, on our way to Florida twice a year - and this construction has been going on for years. Now, I notice they are clearing more land farther south to run all the way to the state of Florida border. Why are they doing this? There is nothing on that stretch of road but a few cotton farms and this new super highway goes to nowhere of any importance in Florida. Who owed who a favor in government? I've been trying in vain to think of why so many years and millions of dollars are being spent on a 'road to nowhere?' Where might these tax dollars be better spent? I do wonder...

Oh yes. I forgot that we are to blame the Bush brothers for everything. Even a 4 lane highway being built in the state of Georgia.
My bad, Fred - I misread that and thought the road was actually in FL. Nope - can't blame them for this one... ;)
