As Perennial as the Grass...

Rita's!!!! Anyone even remotely close to the Delaware Valley knows that the first day of spring brings with it one of the best gifts - and it is free... Sure, we look forward to bright crisp blue skies and fragrant flowers... who doesn't? But on the first day of spring each year Rita's offers everyone a FREE water ice!!! What have I said here before about loving things that are free??

Say it with me... Free water ice tomorrow?? HECK YES! Don't miss it!!!

Those of you who live elsewhere - well - sorry. ;)

I've seen those signs before... 'free beer tomorrow!' .... of course, when you get there the following day, the sign still says tomorrow :(

Anyhoo, what the flip is water ice? isn't it just frozen water? And what did Delaware?

You poor, POOR thing! Italian Water Ice is sort of like a sorbet. It is usually a little softer and smoother in texture - it is a wonderful summertime treat - Rita's is a chain of stores that sells this exclusively and as such are only open March-October. There are other places that, IN my opinion, sell a better quality of water ice - but you just can't beat the free part - and it is a First Day of Spring ritual here to go git sum!

When you come visit me, I shall make sure you have your fill of water ice! :)

It's already on my calendar! I gotta gets me a lemon & chocolate with the chocolate on top (so that by the time I have finished eating the chocolate & get to the lem, a little of the chocolate has melte in to the lemon, giving it a subtle taste of chocolate.....it's a science, really!)

I feel very left out. Is it just me or is the word "water ice" kinda redundant? Still, by saying water ice... somehow it makes me more thirsty. wierd.
