Well - we spent the weekend camping at Yogi Bear/Tall Pines Campground. It was fun... okay - really - it was fun but really mostly for William. Ron and I have decided that our camper (a hybrid travel trailer by Jayco) is NOT suited for cold weather camping, And those beds are SO not comfy! BUT - William had a great time and so it was worth it. Here is a snazzy little slideshow showcasing some of the highlights. WIlliam took quite a few of these pics.
Incidentally - Fighting the Frump is an exercise in futility when one is camping. Maybe that is part of the charm of camping. I DID learn that the way to tolerate hours of "fun" at the playground is to bring an alcoholic beverage of your choice. Next time, I shall be better prepared. ;)

I LOVE the idea about bringing along a 'special beverage' for Mommy to endure playtime at the park AND camping! Gonna try it next time.
LOL - I noticed that most parents had descretely covered bottles and cans at the playground. Suddenly I understood why I was the only one there bored out of my skull and unable to relax... Of course I can only get away with that at the campground since I have to drive to any playgrounds around here! ;)
would you think me a complete prima donna if I told you that my idea of "roughing it" is a Comfort Inn?
Brad has an idea that we are all going camping soon. He wants to start small...like setting up a tent in the back yard and camping there. I told him that I would wave to him from the kitchen window!
No Min- not at all. Truth be told, Ron and I realized this weekend that we enjoy camping significantly less than we used to. But - William loves it - so we hang in there!
Cool slideshow! I need a camping air mattress otherwise I am not comfortable.
Looks like a great time for William! I have great memories of camping as a kid, and I am sure my parents felt the same way you did this weekend... yeah, hang in there.. they are only little once! :)
I hear ya Shelly! Hope FL is treating you well!
