Silent Dispatch

Our prompt from the Weekend Wordsmith this week is a vintage postcard - but my mind went somewhere else with that prompt. I will share it anyway...

Silent Dispatch

I write a postcard for you in my mind,
Speaking of the sensory delights around me-
Cool breezes in the trees, soft sands between my toes.
I tell you of the amber sunset and
Crisp white moon and
I wish you were here.

I don't send the postcard.
I don't even write it.
Instead - I ask the moon to make the delivery.
Half a world away
I wonder if you will perceive my silent dispatch.

I like it, especially asking the moon to make the delivery. Yes, this is where you were inspired to go, so it is a good one for Weekend Wordsmith. Thanks.

This is lovely. I'm always envious of those who can write poetry, I always end up with silly rhymes. Oh well, I have other talents, I suppose... LOL!

Thanks for yuor comment and B-day wishes for my little man.

The moon, sand and breeze figure a lot in my life and musings, so I felt a kinship, loved it! Amy

This was beautiful...the many times we think we're going to write something and change our minds...like our silent one way conversations. If only the moon could transport our mental thoughts to those we love! Maybe it really does.....
