Okay - for those of you who do not know this, my seven year old son has me hooked on Smooth Jazz. I am not entirely sure how it happened, but he loves wjjz and listens to it exclusively. Has for about two years now. Resistance to my son's charms is futile - eventually if you stick with him long enough his infectious enthusiasm will get to you.
Anywho - as a consequence to my new love for Smooth jazz, I have developed a bit of a "crush" on Chris Botti. Yes - he is easy on the eyes but "Looks don't concern me, Maestro. Only talent interests a woman of taste. " (Spontaneous movie quote - anyone care to guess??)
I especially love "Venice" from his new album "Italia". This music just seems to pour from his heart - his trumpet is truly his voice and it is just amazing when you really listen how you can hear sentiments without words. I strongly recommend you give it a listen! If you are local to me, you may want to switch your radio dial to 97.5 once in a while - or log on to their site...

that is awesome for your son to be into such wonderful music! i love to listen to all different kinds with him!
Yes - WIlliam has a broad exposure too - although - aside from Jazz and classical, he mostly gets classic rock and 80's music with a dash of soul and motown. Can't help it, LOL...
Is it wrong that he knows the words to "Pour Some Sugar on Me" and that Aretha is the queen of soul? He could spell RESPECT before he could spell cat.
