So - where's all the reports of the good news?

I know it isn't nearly as appealing to read something uplifting and postitive. I realize that as a society we are more than happy to soak in the bad news but I just have to say... yesterday I paid $4.05 per gallon for premium unleaded gasoline. I was so happy I wanted to hug the young man who filled the tank (i'm in NJ - we don't pump our own gas here).

Where are all the reports on the falling gas prices?? All these people willing to bitch moan and complain about rising gas prices... I paid $0.07 less per gallon this week than last week. I happen to think that is pretty darn great.

Am I the only one??

I agree - I'm glad to see gas prices are dropping. I hope they stay high, though - it's the only way to force people to be more frugal, and to force the automakers to build more fuel-efficient cars. I heard they're going to release all-electric Minis next year. Awesome. I want mine to be solar-powered.

Marvin I couldn't agree more. I love my gas guzzler, but would be more than happy to trade it in for a solar-powered Bug :D (Assuming it goes as fast as my gas guzzler and looks cool ;) )

I too paid less for gas today - $3:96 for '87 .... t'is a start

Froggy - ROn would go ape-shit if I put anything less than premium in the Murano...

And he's quite right!! I was filling up the Versa!

I know you would rather take arsenic than watch Fox News, but they have been reporting on the reduction in gasoline prices all day.

Well Fred - just as I never wagged the finger of blame at Mr. Bush for the increase in gas prices (that would give him WAY too much credit) I am certainly not going to say that I credit him or the Republicans with the decrease... Nice try though, LOL... :D

They aren't giving anybody credit for the reduction - just reporting the good news, which I'm glad to hear although I don't drive very much these days.

Remember, I have an 11 year old car with only 37,000 miles on it. LOL.

For the love of God, the media can't take their mind of the fear mongering ball long enough to dole out the good and unfortunately, much of society depend upon them media to dictate how it is they feel. Mindless, really.

Just in the past week I've seen the following two headlines:

Your Vitamins Are Killing You

and

Your House Is Killing You

I mean, wow.

I wish I were kidding.

but yes, you have a good point. I also paid $0.05 less per gallon this past week.

be well,
jenji

One of my 101 goals is "Find something to be happy and thankful for each day". You are so right in asking "where's all the reports of the good news?", which is why I want to appreciate every day for what it is: a gift ... and I'd agree that paying 7 cents less for gas is definitely good news!

I was out of town this weekend, and returned home to find gasoline much less expensive myself! YAY!

I agree with cafe chick......life is SO much more bearable when I take the time to notice SOMETHING, no matter how small, for which I am grateful.

Thanks for posting the happy news!

Okay so I'm going to be the one to throw a little cold water on this. I'm afraid they are only going down because the Presidential Election is drawing nigh. So enjoy it while it lasts!

No Rose - Actually, the reason is good old fashioned supply and demand. Seems Americans CAN curb our gas consumption - enough to force prices to go down. Sure, I think they will go back up but I don't believe it will be as bad as may were initially predicting - someone told me they would be $7/gallon by the end of summer...
