Bloggers... question for you...

When a reader makes a comment to your blog that sort of requires a response, do you respond by commenting on your own blog or on theirs? Or do you do something else? Thanks!

I usually comment back in the same blog entry, that way others can see the response as well, without having to go back and forth to other blogs and trying to figure out which entry I would have put the response on!

Sometimes though, if it's personal information that I don't want to give out to the general public, I'll email the commenter separately.

I have my blog set so comments come to my email. If they have their blogger account set to their comment comes with an email address, I reply via email to make sure they see it. Otherwise, I comment back in the same blog entry comments section on my blog.

I comment in mine. But you've probably noticed that, lol. Sometimes the commenters have conversations with each other in the comment section.

It really depends. If it's something I don't want to say to the whole world, I'll usually just email them.

I post my replies to an entirely unrelated third blog, to confuse everyone! ;-)

I rarely respond on my blog - once I post it, I don't go back to it. All comments are sent to me via e-mail so I respond there.

I sometimes comment on both blogs (mine and theirs) if I really, really want them to see what I have said. Sometimes I will ALSO send email to make sure, but usually only to my friends or regular readers I've gotten to know and like.
